    Description

    Antique French M1874 Rifle Bayonet measuring 25-1/2" long overall with a blade length of 20-1/2".  Blade in very good condition showing light wear, use, scratches, age patina.   Ricasso area of blade marked, with cartouches, "R" and "C" in a circle and diamond, and "IC" stamped on the opposite side.  Spine of blade marked Chatterault Amory with 1876 Feb. date.  Good working press-stud ejector, brass muted pommel with bright brass peeking out. Has nice looking wood grips. Very nice looking scabbard, dent free.  Matching serial numbers on the bayonet and scabbard, "A71308".    See photos for further details, clarification, and condition.
