    Description

For Auction is U.S. Army Field Manual FM 100-2-3, "The Soviet Army, Troops, Organization, and Equipment." JUNE 1991 Edition. IF you served in the 1980s/1990s you will remember this book fondly in between deployments to the National Training Center in CA or abroad in European REFORGER or Iraq Desert Storm.
This is the definitive military manual every 1980s-1990 U.S. Army platoon leader or S-2/S-3 staff officer had in their office. Per the photos, this manual explains the typical order of battle of the Soviet Union style of warfare and equipment capabilities of weapons, vehicles, tanks, artillery, etc. Not only limited to the Soviet Union, we studied this manual to gain familiarization with how we might fight Saddam Hussein's Iraqi Army in Operation Desert Storm (AUG 1990-FEB 1991). If you are a collector of Cold War memorabilia and history or a gamer involving Soviet Union-era equipment and vehicles this might be just the book for you. Note that the cover is marked JUNE 1991. If I recall correctly, I believe this is the last edition of this field manual since the Soviet Union began it's dissolution during this era. See the photo's provided to get an inside context of the book. The book is size 8.5" x 11". For it's age it is in excellent condition with no marks or tears inside. No missing, creased, or bent pages. The edge of the spine and spine itself shows wear marks caused by opening up the front cover thus reading the book. The front cover has some handling marks from being pulled in and out of bookshelf. This copy is an excellent resource for someone desiring to know the condition and capability of the Soviet Army at the zenith of its' influence. Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen, and Jennifer Grey probably referenced this book in "Red Dawn (1984)." IF you don't know who the aforementioned are then you're too young to remember the good ol' 1980s when we knew who our enemies were and what they were capable of doing. Ah, for simpler times!
I will ship the book in a USPS Priority Mail padded flat rate envelope (size 9.5" x 12.5") which costs .55. I can ship international using local FEDEX counter here in town. Buyer pays the shipping cost to your zip code.
