    Description

    Unusual French Contract Model 1874 Gras Bayonet measuring 25-1/2" overall with a blade length of 20-1/2".  Blade shows a brown age patina, with original finish. Quillon has 3 cartouches and serial no. "FH61785".  Top of spine of handle is marked, "E O H".  bottom of spine marked, "OE/WG".  the Spine of the blade is marked with Steyr 1879 arsenal markings and next to that there are markings "B.G. COPP" or COPE? "K" stamped also next to that. Austria made and contracted to the French.  Excellent working press-stud, all tight handle, with no scabbard.   See photos for further details, clarification, and condition.
