    Description

    Gordon Hansen woodblock print of French hero from World War I who would go on to lead in Vichy France during World War II. An arresting portrait which would be a great addition to your collection. Some slight creasing as shown, consistent with age.
    A painter, illustrator and newspaper artist at the Boston Art Club, Gordon Hansen studied at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston (1925-1932). He was also staff illustrator for the Boston Herald Traveler from 1928 to 1967, and created magazine covers including for "New Yorker" and "Cosmopolitan."
