Description
This is an original, hand-made and hand-embroidered pillow cover or pillowcase cover brought back to the USA by a returning GI from the First World War. It incorporates printed cloth photos of the three Allied leaders during the war, with embroidery in French that translates "for the freedom, honor and glory to the allies." This embroidered piece has been sewn to a square of peach-colored fabric, possibly silk, which in turn has a very fine lace fringe around the edge. I suspect the lace is machine made rather than hand-made. Measures 22" inches, full square, including the lace. There is some age to this item, with stains and creases from years of storage, but it does not appear this was ever sewn to a pillowcase. I am selling "as is" - a WW1 collectible, and original item.If you are buying more than one patch from us, PLEASE use the shopping cart feature.
