Pretty 17” Flat Top High Brow Black Hair Porcelain China Doll in Flower Dress
This pretty china doll was in my husband's grandmother's collection.
She is 17” tall and her head circumference is 9-1/2”.
She's old but has no markings so I am unsure of her origin or age.
Her head is shaped such that the top of her head is flat but with wavy hair on top and the paint at her back neck hairline is a bit jagged.
She has blue eyes.
Her head and right arm porcelain are in perfect condition with only a couple of blue “pepper flake” spots on her neck; however, the porcelain on her left arm and both legs are ever so lightly crazed (see photos).
Her black “boots” are painted on her legs with roughly painted white buttons on the sides.
Her cloth body is in excellent condition with no age spots.
I can find no evidence of chips, hairline cracks, or repairs on any part of her body.
She wears a pretty off-white dress with little pink flowers, pink ribbon and white lace, and photos are included of all sides.
Her clothes are clean and in very good condition, and she wears three layers as pictured.
Her petticoat has purple ribbon and lace and is lined with netting.
Her bloomers also have lace at the ankle.
She does not come with a stand.
Her last three homes in our family have been non-smoking; no odor.
